STRUDES involvement in the development and construction of new  pollution  control  systems  is brought  to  the forefront as evident in the assistance provided to Procedair (today: Solios) in the structural design of the large baghouses used in the Cement and Aluminum industries.

Environmental: Alternate Solid Fuels (ASF) Davenport Iowa  USA

STRUDES installed equipment to receive, store and process (shred) a variety of alternate fuel streams. To generate savings through the substitution of Alternate Solid Fuels for Coal (40% fuel replacement).

We support Lafarge’s strategy/targets for alternate fuels utilization. 

 
Environmental: Essroc's Picton Cement Plant

Picton Cement Plant was a "turn-key" supply. The bag house equipment was i nstalled by the supplier. Strudes' engineers have coordinated and designed the necessary foundations and tie-ups with the existing equipment and structures.

 Environmental: Lafarge Alpena Michigan Plant

The need to improve efficiency, eliminate an environmental liability, and significantly reduce kiln dust made necessary the introduction of new ingredients, taconite and flyash, to the raw mix at the Lafarge Alpena Michigan Plant. The flyash is delivered by rail car and transferred by means of a pneumatic system to a 40,000 tonne dome storage facility. The taconite is delivered by self-unloading ships through the transfer tower whose electrically operated doors allow the ship's boom to unload material in a dust free environment. It is then distributed by a tripper conveyor into a 60,000 tonne storage hall.
